2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your full name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Business Information

We collect your business name, business type, and Google Business Profile location identifier (Place ID) to connect your account to your Google reviews.

Google Business Profile Data

When you connect your Google Business Profile, we access and store:

• Your Google Business Profile location details
• Customer reviews left on your Google Business Profile
• Reviewer names and review content
• Star ratings associated with reviews
• OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens (encrypted) to act on your behalf

We access this data solely to generate AI responses and post them to Google on your behalf when you approve or enable auto-post.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the ReviewPulse AI service
• Fetch your Google reviews on a regular basis
• Generate AI-powered responses tailored to your business type and tone preference
• Post approved responses to your Google Business Profile on your behalf
• Send service-related communications (account updates, trial expiry notices)
• Improve and maintain our service
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your review data for advertising purposes.

4. Google API Data and Limited Use

ReviewPulse AI’s use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, data obtained through Google APIs is used only to:

• Display your reviews within the ReviewPulse AI dashboard
• Generate AI-powered responses to your reviews
• Post responses back to your Google Business Profile when you approve

We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, transfer data to third parties for their independent use, or use it for any purpose not directly related to providing the ReviewPulse AI service.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement the following security measures:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
• Google OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in our database
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Access to production data is strictly limited to authorized personnel

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Review data synced from Google is deleted along with your account.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ReviewPulse AI:

• Google Business Profile API — to access and respond to your reviews
• Google Gemini API — to generate AI-powered review responses
• Railway / Vercel — cloud hosting providers for our infrastructure

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary with each provider to operate our service.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Disconnect your Google Business Profile at any time from your settings
• Revoke ReviewPulse AI’s access to your Google account via your Google Account settings

9. Cookies

We use minimal cookies and local storage for authentication purposes only (storing your JWT session token). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
